last night m and i went to our first ever la leche league meeting. being a same-sex couple does have it's advantages - both of us could attend because we're both ladies!
m was very apprehensive about going. since she had a breast reduction 10 years ago, we are very unsure as to what her chances of being able to breastfeed are. but the meeting was really fun, and we ended up meeting a lot of great ladies. we also borrowed a good book from their lending library called defining your own success by Diana West. it is a book written especially for women who are thinking about BFAR (breastfeeing after reduction.)
all in all, i think that we will go back to the LLL meeting next month, if for no other reason than to show off the lemur! but we hope that with the support of some breastfeeding moms, we'll be able to muster up the courage to breastfeed as much as m is humanly capable of.
